our family life, our way

Selling Our Home

on April 11, 2013

I shared on my personal Facebook page the other day that the time has come to sell our home. The one we moved out of last year when we came to the Hunter Region.

I have sympathy for the gorgeous family who have been renting it from us, as it means they had to find somewhere else to live. Which they have. Coincidentally it’s more mutual friends and another beautiful home.

So we’ve had agents from a couple of real estate companies go through and have their appraisals in our hot little hands, ready to make a final decision (we hope) on who to list it with. Today I engaged a company to do the conveyancing side of things and to prepare the Contract of Sale. Just a couple of little details left to finalise.

It is said that moving house is one of the most stressful events in life. Which doesn’t apply fully to us right now because we did the move part of it last year, but it still has an element of stress, being away from the property and worrying about disrupting our tenants too much and the whole unknown factor. Will people like it? Are we pricing it right? Today I felt stress lift off my shoulders at the end of each phone call. I can feel progress being made.

And that makes me one happy chicken!

Tell me, what’s making you happy today?

Karen 🙂

Well to start with the sun is shining, we are all healthy but mostly whats making me happy is that in nine sleeps I will finally be a Mrs! And in a few less sleeps I will get to see you and your lovely family for a few days! But the packing and preparing is sooooo much work!

I’m happy I’ve almost survived my first term back on class after 7 years of teaching technology. Tomorrow I’ll be ecstatic as I will have survived and it’s holidays!!!!!!!!
