A Day at the Gardens

The younger two kids & I headed off to Hunter Valley Gardens for the day. We usually go twice a year – once during the Christmas Lights season and one other season during the year, on school holidays.

I’m sure I write about it every time, but it is the kind of place where each time you go, you see something that you didn’t see last time.  The Christmas Lights Spectacular is always fabulous, with over a million lights on display. July school holidays sees a Winter Wonderland, with man made snow to have snowball fights, an ice skating rink and a toboggan ride. This was our first springtime visit, with so many flowers in bloom. Too early for the roses – they will be in bloom over the next two months, but still lots to see and admire. And we like to admire the colour, scent and feel of the different plants and flowers.
