our family life, our way

Today onsite. And Plan A for next week.

on August 8, 2014

The roofing contractors weren’t onsite today like we had hoped. However that is not a problem as our site manager rang to give us an update.

Here’s where we’re up to today:

1. Daily pic from across the road.

2. Daily pic from back corner.

3. There’s our front porch, where we shall sit many a time with a cool beverage. Or hot, depending on the season.

4. Front of house from a different angle.

As I mentioned, out site manager rang us today. The plan for next week is as follows – the fascia and gutters are to be installed on Monday (they were delivered yesterday). They should be ready for the roof to go on on Wednesday, then the carpenters will come on Thursday to do the eaves. We will get to see our chosen colours on a real life house! I hope we chose well. After this, the next step will be for the doors to start going on to get the house to lockup stage.

5. Plan A for the coming week.

I am calling this Plan A as the weather forecast is for a beautiful sunny weekend followed by rain from Monday to Friday. Plan B will simply be to shift the arrangements to when it stops raining. It is what it is. There will be rain delays factored into the construction time of 28 weeks. We can’t change the weather, we can only roll with it.

Today’s bonus? My mother-in-law has come to stay for the weekend and we have something other than a piece of ground to show her!

Back with more when there is more to show. A-la show and tell.

Karen.
